Private Stanley Ernest Wilshere age 27.

Born at Wandsworth 1890, the son of John, shop merchant, and Julia. In 1991 the family were living at Lambeth, but the 1901 and 1911 census showed the family residing at Plymouth, although in 1911 Stanley is a boarder in Colchester where he is working for a bookseller.

His parents moved to Northumberland Place in Teignmouth prior to 1917.

Stanley enlisted at Paddington with the London Yeomanry and later transferred to the Machine Gun Corps, service number 60885. He was killed in action on 21 September 1917. Remembered on Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
