Private Frederick Disney Francis age 37. Born Teignmouth, Devon 1879, son of Frederick and Louisa Francis, baptised at Ringmore, Shaldon in 1883. In 1881 Frederick was living with his family in Torquay and in 1891they were all living at St. Thomas, Exeter. By 1901 he was living with his widowed mother and lodging in Exeter, he was working as a stone mason labourer.
Enlisting at Horsham Frederick served with 13th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment, service number G/927 and he arrived in France on 19 October 1915. He was still with the regiment when he was killed in action at the 2nd Battle of Passchendaele on 15 October 1917. He is buried in Kemmel Chateau Military Cemetery, Belgium
