Major Frederick (Tez) Robert Fulford Warren age 31.
Frederick was born in 1885 in Glamorganshire, the son of Frederick and Florence Warren of Clive Place, Penarth, Glamorganshire, Wales; he was baptised on 17 April 1885. His father moved to Teignmouth where he was Manager of the National Provincial Bank from 1898 to 1918; the family lived at Den Crescent and were shown there on 1901 and 1911 census.
Frederick was a pupil at Blundell’s School, Tiverton, shown on 1901 census, by 1911 he was working as a bank clerk and living at Hill View, Honiton. In 1914 Frederick was working at the National Provincial Bank in Southsea and immediately volunteered to join the Hampshire Regiment when war broke out.
He was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant on 29 October 1914 with the Portsmouth Battalion.

Frederick went to France in March 1916 with 14th Battalion, Hampshire Regiment, and was killed in action on 22 October 1916.
He was buried at Grandcourt Road Cemetery, Somme. Remembered on Seafront Memorial and St Michael’s Church, Teignmouth; also on Blundell’s School Roll of Honour.
Inscription reads: “Their glory shall not be blotted out”. His grave is unknown and a cross was erected to him with the inscription: “Known to be buried in this cemetery”.
Frederick's younger sister, Florence Mary Warren lived at Cambria, Marine Parade, Shaldon, Devon in 1915, she was a Voluntary Aid Detachment (VAD) nurse from June 1915 to 1917 and worked in three Devon hospitals during that time.
