Harry was the second son of William and Mary Jane Cornelius. The1881 census showed him at 17 Fore Street, West Teignmouth with his parents plus 2 siblings. In the 1891 census he was living at 7 Chelsea Place with parents and 6 siblings, he was listed as Harry.
The 1901 census showed him at 7 Chelsea Place with his widowed mother and 4 siblings; he was working as a painter/decorator. By 1911 the census showed him living at 3 Coombe Vale with Mary and 2 children, he was now a house painter.
Listed on 1911 and 1913 electoral registers at 3 Coombe Vale, he married Mary Jane Hill in 1907 registered in quarter 2 at Newton Abbot.
Harry was one of 4 brothers serving in the 5th Devonshire Regiment and had been a territorial with the 2nd/5th Battalion, Devonshire Regiment, army service number 3203.
Harry died at home on 24 March 1915 following an illness which lasted 7 weeks.
He was buried in Teignmouth Cemetery on 26 March.
