Territorial Force War Medal

Established in April 1920 for award to members of the Territorial Force and Territorial Force Nursing Service who volunteered for service overseas on or before 30 September 1914, and served overseas.

To qualify, the recipient had to have been a member of the Territorial Force on or before 30th September 1914 and to have served in an operational theatre of war outside the United Kingdom between 5th August 1914 and 11th November 1918.

33,934 medals were awarded, this is the rarest of the five WWI campaign medals.

An individual who was eligible to receive the 1914 Star or 1914/15 Star could not receive the Territorial Forces War Medal.
